Two Stacks and Killowen Availability in the USA
A little bit of background for those of you who don’t know me and the background with Two Stacks and Killowen here in the US. I’m a freelance Irish Whiskey Educator and one of my clients - my biggest and favo(u)rite - is Foley Family Wines & Spirits (FFWS). I work with FFWS as their Irish Whiskey Educator & Trainer, think Ambassador, for Two Stacks and Killowen across the US.
FFWS are diversifying in a major way into the spirits space and in addition to Two Stacks and Killowen from Ireland they are also agency partners for Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia from Scotland, El Mexicano Tequila from Mexico. On top of that, they also have their own produced brands that include whiskeys from Minden Mill, Charles Goodnight Texas Bourbon, High Ground Rye Vodka, Lighthouse Gin from New Zealand and others. Yes, I’m biased but in my opinion it’s a top-drawer portfolio of spirits!
At the end of May 2024, it was announced that FFWS would become the US importer for both Two Stacks and Killowen taking over from the previous importer, High Road Spirits. The initial plan is to focus on a core range of products from both Two Stacks and Killowen, and as distribution and sales channels are established look to slowly expand the offerings.
The first container docked in September 2024 and pretty much went straight out the door with more containers arriving in February 2025 just in time to get some product into other markets in time for a certain big day for us Irish in March!
It won’t surprise you that the “big markets” have been the focus for selling in the initial inventory but we are now seeing some of the secondary and tertiary states get some inventory in place. This whole process is complicated by many factors. Firstly, there is a mountain of paperwork to be filed with each individual state to notify them of change of importer, change of distributor, change of bottle sizes etc., etc., etc. You get the picture!
And then there are the Control States - 18 of them noted by Italics in the list below - where extra paperwork and submissions are required and each of those 18 states has different rules and regulations. Just one example is that Oregon doesn’t allow/doesn’t have in their system 100ml as a recognized size for liquor sales! FFWS have two people working full time on all of this and in addition remember that they are doing this not just for the Two Stacks and Killowen products but for all of the spirits products in the whole portfolio. It’s a gargantuan task!
On top of all that, there is a project ongoing in the background and we hope to have an e-commerce store up and running by the end of February (please don’t hold me to this date) that will offer shipping to somewhere between 40 and 45 states. again there is a lot of compliance to navigate for this to happen.
In the meantime how can you help? I’ve listed the states below in a master list of sorts and below that I’ve detailed what products, and their SKU #’s, are available through the distributors in the individual states that have inventory. If your state doesn’t have a link to further down this page then at this time there’s nothing available in your state that I’m aware of.
If your state does have a link to further down this page you’ll find a graphic and list of the products, their SKU #’s, and who the distributor for your state is. If you want to stock/re-stock your bar/cupboard/back-room then take that info - SKU # in particular - to your local friendly liquor store owner and ask them to order it in for you. Again for compliance and inventory supply reasons you’ll likely not be able to do this with one of the chains - think Total Wine - yet.
